Audio-Technica ATR 288W - Microphone - black customer reviews:

Watch your sound I have had a few shot ruined due to a clicking in the return using the lavaliere. I really have to watch the sound indicator on my camera to see if it is moving during no sound being produced. Have not used the hand held mic. Changing the channels did not resolve my issue. Other than that, for the price - product is great, no other complaints.
A Decent Wireless System I needed a second wireless lavaliere mic system for my commercial and wedding videography business. This mic fit the bill pretty well. I had the benefit of already using a model that another producer owned and enjoyed using on indoor shoots, including one that he hired me to camera op and run sound on. The mic itself has a decent range, and is able to hold its clarity fairly well indoors. Once you run outside, or out of its range though, you can run into some serious interference. The option of only two different broadcasting frequencies also is a bit of a hindrance, but then again, when working at close enough quarters and indoors, this won't really be an issue for you. Also, the addition of the hand held mic was definitely worth the few extra bucks I ended up paying over the base wireless model without it. It's a pretty basic dynamic microphone, which means no batteries necessary, and it can be used with multiple different wireless units, like my Sennheiser Camcorder Wireless Body-pack System with ME2 Omni Lavaliere, or can be plugged directly into a mixer, the camera, or a computer for some dubbing work. It's not an amazing mic, by any means, but it's a good one, and works extremely well for filming well-wishes at weddings.
Audio Technica works for you when you understand it's capabilities Tested the system to establish range and capability. Nice looking system, good compliment when mounted on camera. System has clear audio up to 50 feet with open view of receiver (no obstructions such as walls trees, etc.) Both microphones are sufficient, providing clear audio, but an upgrade wouldn't hurt. Highly recommend this affordable system.
Fuzzy reception- need post sound program to fix So the kit IS really easy to use, and it has a good sticker price, but that comes at a slight cost, as you would expect. The demos of this thing online were by youtubers who, I found out later, cleaned up the audio in post (thanks guys, really helpful product demo). So I was a bit mislead into buying this. But if you don't mind a little post work in audacity, soundtrack pro, etc. this may be what you are looking for when it comes to a cheap, wireless solution. After the sound is cleaned up it sounds pretty decent. I got reception through walls, etc. The problem was that it was just fuzzy in the background no matter what distance that transmitter was from the receiver, and I tried both frequencies. Know what you are getting when you buy this product, a cheap solution to a wireless system... I would only recommend this kit with a good program to fix the hiss, like soundtrack pro. Good luck!
ATR 228W wireless mic review I've shot tons of weddings with stills so the venture into Video was new to me. I wired up the groom and was surprised how great the audio came out. Almost a little too sensative. As long as you have a clear shot to the mic (no walls) your audio will come out just exactly how you want it. Highly recommend this unit.
