Nady MPF-6 6-Inch Clamp On Microphone Pop Filter customer reviews:

Great! I'm not a professional so this review is not aimed towards those who work with high end audio gear for a living. If you're a beginner to mid-level audio enthusiast, this product will work well for you. Why do you want it? Because speaking or singing close to the mic tends to cause a rush of air which often results in a "popping" sound when recorded. Certain sounds such as "p" and "sh" could also lead to clipping during recording. A good pop filter will capture the energy of that rushing air or diffuse the sounds of certain letters. You may also want a pop filter if you are recording anybody who might spit saliva while they are talking or singing. This is much more common than you think and saliva can actually corrode a mic. The Nady MPF-6 will help with all of these problems. You just have to remember to keep some space between the filter and the mic.
The filter is a round frame with two layers of material acting as the filter. You could probably make one but if you're setting up a home studio then you have more important things to do with your time and it would be more cost effective to just buy it.
The gooseneck is easy to use and stays in place exactly where I need it to.
The last component is a clamp. I currently use it on the mini stand that came with my Blue Snowball mic and it works very well. The clamp is adjustable so it can also be used with other mic stands. Overall, this is a great product and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to my friends.
It makes a difference. How much? Check out the video for a comparison Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R30LGY87RZ1UZN The video review compares audio samples, with and without the filter, recorded using a Blue Microphones Snowball USB Microphone (White). It also includes some observations on this excellent product.
Works great :) I purchased this to go along with the mic I bought and it works great :)
Effective but "clamping challenged" Caveat: I am just learning about podcasting and this is my first experience with a pop filter.
On the plus side: It works and it's not very expensive. I was also surprised that the "filter" appears to be no more than a black nylon stocking, so if you wanted to rig up your own device, it probably wouldn't be too hard. The flexible arm is also easy to position and stays where it is put--nothing like the desk lamp I used to have that kept slinking over until it was face down.
On the down side: the clamping. I had assumed I would clamp it to the edge of my desk, but my desk top is 1.75 inches wide and the clamp isn't big enough. Then I thought I would use a heavy (but thin) Corian cutting board, but the nose of the clamp that drives down into the surface wouldn't hold and the thing just kept falling over. My solution: the pop filter is clamped into the side of a Stanley "Fat Max" hammer and so far it's working pretty well. The nose is firmly piercing the "N" of the "Antivibe" depressed lettering on the side. And the rubber grip on the hammer makes the whole thing easy to move around. Plus it makes me smile.
Just What i Was looking for. I purchased this & the Samson BT4 Boom stand. They work great together, the p-filter is easy to adjust to get it to almost any position you need it. Alot of people think the pop filters aren't nothing yes they are something i make Hip Hop music, an it comes in handy i noticed a big difference in my vocals recording. The screen is also sturdy. I'd recommend it to a friend.
